When you get a haircut for wavy hair, you've got to know the finer tips on taking good care of it, otherwise, with neglect, you will lose those stunning curls, and that would definitely be a shame. Learn how to keep those curls for as long as you want them, you will not be sorry you did.
It is always best to let your wavy or curly hair air dry.
DO NOT TOUCH WHILE IT IS DRYING. This will most definitely cause your hair to frizz up. If you absolutely must get it dry as soon as possible, then you can use the blow dryer. But just make sure it is at is coolest and slowest setting, WITH a diffuser, and ONLY until its about 80% dry, to avoid the fizz. Just do not blow dry every day, this would damage and dry out your hair, just do it when it needs to be done.
If it is your first time getting a haircut that is wavy, then you had best let your hairdresser choose an easy to maintain style for you. Preferably one that just requires a wet and go approach to it, and preferably one that has long layers, it creates great shape, and makes it easier to untangle.
Getting your ends trimmed about 3 times a year will keep it healthy, and looking great. Maybe even a reshape here and there, do what you feel is good.
Having your hair dresser cut your hair with thinning shears is a great way to tame an embarrassing cone of pouf.
This is standard, but still, avoid heat at all costs. Don't straighten your curls very often, curly hair is better and more fun to look at, play with, and twirl, the guys just love it.
Want a fro? Then brush it while it's dry! Don't want a fro? Then leave it be.
Remember, love your hair; gorgeous and beautiful curls are hard to come by, and takes mega work. But being the envy of many is just one of the many perks you get.
Now you are armed with the knowledge of being able to take care of your curls, and not lose them. Feel a little bit less stressed out? I am sure you know how frustrating it can be to work hard on your curls, only to see them fade away, and you not know why. Now you don't have to spend hard earned cash getting it redone all the time at your stylist, especially when you can just do it yourself.
